Course Description

This course provides an overview of the importance of international business and trade in the global economy and explores the factors that influence success in international markets. Students will learn about the techniques and strategies associated with marketing, distribution, and managing international business effectively. This course prepares students for postsecondary programs in business, including international business, marketing, and management.

Course Delivery

The course is run through Blackboard. Content is a mix of text, slide presentations and video. There are online text and video discussions about International Business and how it impacts Canada.

There are monthly evening synchronous sessions, during which the class goes over content and the teacher answers any questions that students may have.

Assessment and Evaluation

There are a mix of assessments and evaluation tools in International Business including assignments, video presentations, group work, mind mapping and discussions (oral and written). The final culminating task has two components; a written report and video presentation looking at how marketing, cultural, political and economic factors will impact the expansion of a company into a new country.
